Choosing a mode (Training / Event / Custom)

When to use each mode and what speed limits apply. Available in build 12+.

Build 12 introduces three modes that gate the target-speed picker based on the course you're running. The mode you pick determines what target speeds the app will let you set.

Training

Training is for closed-course practice — a track day, a sim, or a section of road you've explicitly arranged with the road owner. No speed cap; you can set any target the app supports. Training is the only mode where you can run target speeds above what's safe on public roads.

Event

Event mode is for sanctioned races like BBORR. The app reads the class speed limit from the course metadata and enforces it as a hard cap on the target picker. If you're entered in BBORR Sport (110 mph average), the picker will not let you pick a target above 110.

Custom

Custom is for any course you record yourself on public roads. The cap is the road speed limit (default 65 mph) — the picker will not let you target a speed faster than the road posted limit.

Why the lockout

The mode lockout exists so the app cannot suggest target speeds that exceed the legal or sanctioned limit for the course you're driving. Pick the mode that matches what you're actually doing.
